SEA (Suffolk Energy Assessment) LLP carry out energy surveys on residential properties and issue energy performance certificates (EPCs)

SEA (Suffolk Energy Assessment) LLP carries out energy surveys of residential and commercial properties and issues energy performance certificates (EPCs) and recommendation reports

Using renewable energy is not a new concept, and early 19th-century Suffolk was home to nearly 500 working windmills
  • An EPC records a building's energy efficiency and environmental impact ratings.
  • EPCs are accompanied by recommendations reports listing cost-effective measures for the improvement of your building's energy performance.
  • An EPC must be provided - by the seller or landlord - on the sale or letting of a domestic or non-domestic building, or part, to a prospective buyer or tenant.
  • EPCs allow prospective buyers or tenants to compare and assess the energy performance of properties.
  • Each EPC for every property - whether commercial or domestic - is lodged on a
    national register.

SEA (Suffolk Energy Assessment) is pleased to provide energy assessment services and support to:

  • solicitors
  • home owners
  • conveyancers
  • business owners
  • chartered surveyors
  • property professionals
  • private and social landlords
  • building services engineers
  • charities (discounted fees apply), and
  • individual vendors throughout Suffolk.

Our recommendations reports include a specific emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation as well as renewable energy technologies and sustainable energy production options (where applicable).

Local expertise, national calculation methodologies

SEA's accredited assessor measures the energy performance of existing buildings using government-approved, industry-agreed methodologies and data sets (as required by Article 3 of the EPBD ), which means that:

  • when assessing an existing home for sale or rent, we use RdSAP data based on the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP);
  • for buildings that are not dwellings, we use SBEM , which calculates a building's energy use and CO2 emissions and demonstrates compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.

We offer our clients expert local knowledge of Badley, Barking, Battisford, Baylham, Claydon, Coddenham, Combs, Copdock, Creeting St Mary, Creeting St Peter, Foxhall, Framlingham, Great Blakenham, Great Bricett, Great Finborough, Halesworth, Ipswich, Kesgrave, Little Finborough, Martlesham, Melton, Nacton, Needham Market, Nettlestead, Offton, Onehouse, Rattlesden, Rendlesham, Saxmundham, Sproughton, Somersham, Stowmarket, Stowupland, Otley, Wickham Market, Willisham, Woodbridge, and many other towns and villages in the mid-Suffolk and Suffolk coastal areas.
